Following a detailed proposal from SND?s Region 16 SND/DACH (German-speaking countries) director Stefan Knapp, the SND board of directors voted to host the 2014 annual workshop in Frankfurt, Germany. The motion was accepted Wednesday in Cleveland with a unanimous vote at the fall SND board meeting, pending a formal contract letter. The workshop will be September 25-27, 2014 in the Frankfurt am Main Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Kameha Suite.
?I am very happy that SND?s annual gathering will be in Europe again for the first time in 15 years,? said Knapp. ?I?m excited that the Board chose Frankfurt to host its international annual meeting and workshop in 2014. Frankfurt is not only the most international city in Germany, but also represents one of the most creative regions known worldwide for its news design. It will be a great pleasure and our honor to welcome our international guests, colleagues and friends to Frankfurt. Save the date!?
?SND has had members from Germany since its founding, and they have had a great presence in our organization. It?s incredibly exciting to think about a 2014 workshop there, and to celebrate our international character where the printing press was first introduced to the world,? said Stephen Komives, executive director of the Society.
